Salamandastron (Book 5, Redwall)
by Brian Jacques
|
This
is a fantasy book about Urthstripe, the strong badger lord of
Salamandastron, and his daughter, Mara. Salamandastron is attacked by an
army of ferrets and rats, led by Feralgo the Assassin. This book keeps
you in suspense and makes you feel like you are in the book. It paints a
picture in your head of what is going on. I think other kids would like
it because it has a lot of action and you don't want to put it down
because you feel like you are there and if you don't keep reading, you
wouldn't be able to help the book characters.

The Seven Songs of Merlin (Lost Years of Merlin, No. 2)
by T. A. Barron
|
The Seven Songs of Merlin is a book about Merlin when he is young. He brings his mom to a magical island and she gets very sick. There is only one cure for the disease and Merlin has to find it. Some things that made this book good were that he had to learn how to do a whole bunch of magic stuff and that he has to battle a really evil ogre. It's a real cool fantasy book because you feel like you are the one doing all the magic stuff. Reviewed by Dude Man - Age 9 |

Swamp Angel (Caldecott Honor Book)
by Anne Isaacs, illustrated by Paul O. Zelinsky

Swamp Angel is about this girl, when she was born, she was a really big baby. She grew up to be 100 feet tall. I liked the picture because they're pretty. The girl did nice things for people like move their wagons out of the swamp. She also fought a bear so people would be safe. It was funny that she even wrestled the bear in her sleep.
