Each month our young readers pick favorite books that they read in the past month and tell why they recommend it to other kids their age. This month's reviews include:

The Doll People

 Deceptions: Star Wars Jedi Apprentice

Big Anthony

The Doll People

by Ann M. Martin and Laura Godwin and illustrated by Brian Selznick

Annabelle is 8 years old and she has been for 100 years! That's because she is a doll. One day another doll family moves in. Their names are the Funcrafts. They are very different then Annabelle's family. Together they solve a mystery about Annabelle's missing Aunt. This book was really exciting. It had a lot of suspense. I would recommend it to any girl from 8-12.

Deceptions: Star Wars Jedi Apprentice

by Jude Watson

Obi-Wan and his apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, are sent to investigate a space station where they think that some people are being held hostage. You never quite know who the main bad guy is, which makes this an exciting book. Also, a lot of this book happens in between Star Wars episodes 1 and 2 so you get to find out what happens in between the two episodes.

Big Anthony: His Story

by Tomie dePaola

One day Big Anthony's teacher asked him to stay after school and help clean up in the class room. The teacher said to put the books on the shelf, but he put everything in the room on the shelf. Big Anthony did not listen to anybody so his family sent him to go get his own food, but he went and never came back.
