Jacob's Rescue: A Holocaust Story

by Malka Drucker

Jacob's Rescue is about a Jewish boy named Jacob during the Holocaust. The kind Roslan family takes him in and agrees to hide him, at the risk of losing their lives.

This book was really good. It was very tense at times like when the Nazis were searching the Roslan's house and Jacob has to hide under the flour At other times it was heartwarming like when he is reunited with his little brother, David. I would recommend this to anyone interested in the Holocaust.

Ender's Game

by Orson Scott Card

Ender is selected to go to a special school where they train people to be military officers to fight in a war against the alien "buggers". It's a very exciting, action-filled science fiction. One of the best parts is when Ender and his friends go to the battleroom and finally learn how to use the guns no one else knows how they work. This book is really good.

Lizard Meets Ivana the Terrible

by C. Anne Scott and illustrated by Stephanie Roth

Lizard starts going to a new school and meets this girl named Ivana and everybody is saying that she's mean and if you look her straight in the eye you'll turn to stone. Still, Lizard becomes Ivana's friend. My favorite parts are when this rude guy steals Ivana's bullfrog and when Ivana won't talk to Lizard. This book is good and funny.

The Last Game

by Joan Hoffman

There's a red team and a yellow team playing baseball. The last batter hits a really good hit and runs all the way home. On one hit, a girl catches the ball and when her hat fell off it made me laugh. This book is good because it is easy to read. And I like sports books and this is a sports book.
