The Thief Lord

by Cornelia Funke

Prosper and Bo are running away from there cruel aunt and uncle, who they live with after their parents die. They decide to go to Venice, a city that their mother described to them as being almost magical. In Venice they meet Scipio, the young Thief Lord who gives them a place to live with a group of homeless children in an old movie theater. Scipio brings them stolen loot that they sell to buy food and clothes. But who is Scipio anyways, and where does he come from? This book made me want to go visit Venice. It describes setting beautifully, with tons of detail. I also liked the quick plot, with it's sharp turns and quick twists. This book is great, anyone who likes adventure, or mystery, or fantasy, or really, any kind of fiction would love it! I know I did.

And Then There Were None

by Agatha Christie

The trouble started when a Mr. Owen wrote a letter to ten people asking them to come have a vacation on Indian Island. When all ten got there, an unknown voice accuses them of murder. Only minutes later one of them suddenly dies.

In this book, Agatha Christie is able to give you a mystery that is almost impossible to solve. This is a thrilling book. You never know what's going to happen next. You'll not be able to put it down for fear of what's going to happen. From the first page it draws you into it and helps you imagine it like you're right there watching it. Can you solve the mystery of the Ten Little Indians?

The Water Horse

by Dick King Smith and illustrated by David Parkins

Kirstie brings home this strange egg. But will it hatch. Yes!!!! The next day it did into a strange animal called a kelpie or should I say Water Horse. Find out how they keep their pet safe and sound while he grows bigger and bigger. Read this book and find out what they do to move their pet from bathtub to fish pond to loch to an even bigger loch and still keep him a secret. If you like books that have a really big problem and include monsters than you should read this book.

Little Bear

by Elsa Holmelund Minarik and illustrated by Maurice Sendak

There is this bear and it is his birthday and he thought there was not going to be any cake so he made soup. I liked it when one of his friends brought him an apple because it's seems silly to give an apple for a birthday.
